For more than 21 years, Kent Kopen has been helping clients manage their liabilities and assets in a more congruent, holistic manner.  The majority of Kent’s professional focus has been on helping people make smart financial decisions when they borrow money.


Kent works with some of Orange County’s top Financial Advisors, Estate Planning Attorneys, CPAs and Accountants.  He compliments their work by creating liability management plans that support multidisciplinary comprehensive wealth management strategies.  He also enjoys occasional roles as a financial educator and trainer.  Kent explains his unique ability this way.

Mr. Kopen earned his MBA from the University of Southern California (USC) where he graduated with honors.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.


In 2011 he received the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor credential from the College for Financial Planning. Kent holds or has held Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses and insurance and real estate broker licenses in both California and Colorado.




Kent has been a featured contributor to The Reverse Review, a national magazine about the reverse mortgage industry.  He also co-authored the liability management book, Borrow Smart Retire Rich ©2007, and was a former guest lecturer at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) on reverse mortgages and financing strategies for seniors.  


Kent has been a member of the Hoag Hospital Foundation 552 Club since 1989.  He has also been a member of the Estate Planning Council of South Orange County, ACG Orange County, and board member of the USC SOC Alumni Association.
